Over the years, Sinomach Hainan Development Co. has successfully delivered major housing and hospital projects in Zambia, having significantly improved the living conditions and healthcare services in the southern African country.
In December 2009, the company signed a $430 million (3.06 billion yuan) contract with Zambia's Ministry of Finance to build 4,527 residential units for the Ministry of National Defense. Located in Lusaka, Kabwe and Mufulira, the project covered a total of 604,000 square meters and included supporting public facilities. Officially launched in April 2011, the project was completed by December 2013, greatly improving the housing conditions for Zambian defense personnel. Lusaka's Specialized Hospital is the first in Zambia capable of complex operations such as heart transplants, while the two general hospitals, each with 216 beds, serve as critical healthcare hubs for their districts.
These projects have significantly boosted Zambia's defense housing and healthcare infrastructure, and strengthened the partnership between Zambia and China.
